Computer is the most trouble prone product as per the recent survey by Consumer Reports. In order to solve the problem, you have to wait time on the phone and the knowledge of support staff. Apple’s tech support received high scores across the board for both laptop and desktop systems in Consumer Reports’ latest survey featured in the June issue.
Consumer reports rated customer satisfaction with tech support on a scale of 0 to 100, with 100 being the most satisfied. Apple scored an 83 in the laptop survey and an 81 on the desktop side. A ranking over 80 means that respondents were very satisfied, according to Consumer Reports—Apple was the only manufacturer to top 80 in either category.
Apple was also the only company to score higher than 80 out of 100 in both desktop and notebook support. In fact, no other home-computer maker scored higher than 66 on either type of PC. Lenovo Group Ltd. received a 66 for its laptop support, the highest non-Apple score.
Anyone can walk in to an Apple Store and get help from a Mac Genius regardless of how long they’ve had their Mac, but Apple limits its telephone-based support to 90 days from the date of purchase, unless you purchase an AppleCare plan, which can run as high as $349 for a MacBook Pro.
