HSBC has picked up SAP’s Netweaver Technology for the integration platform across the company. The product will facilitate delivery of banking services to its corporate clients and makes it easier for the purpose of compliance.
The new technology is going to simplify the transaction between business to bank and minimize the complexities and time required to serve the client. It will also speed up the process for corporate services such as account payables, account receivables and reconciliations.
The standard approach for the banks is to keep standalone service gateway. This is very resource intensive that can pose security and operational risk. To overcome this HSBC is using SAP NetWeaver to offer a standard interface between the corporate client’s office enterprise resource planning system and the bank’s back office. The customers will be able to access the banking information easily through this interface that uses ISO 20022 XML format.
“SAP is a leading Enterprise Resource Planning solution provider, and with many of our clients worldwide already running on SAP, they were the natural choice for our business needs,” said Marcus Treacher, head of Electronic Banking and E-Commerce, Global Transaction Banking at HSBC.
