IBM Made a Deal for the Acquisition of ILOG
IBM struck a deal to acquire ILOG that valued $340 million . IBM will merge ILOG into its WebSphere brand which will enhance the capability of its middleware. Middleware includes web servers, application servers, and similar tools that support application development and delivery. ILOG BRMS provides easy, safe and predictable control over automated business decisions with the right tools for business managers, analysts, architects and developers
IBM combines its business process management (BPM), business optimization, and service-oriented architecture (SOA) software with ILOG’s business rules management technologies. Customer will be able to access information faster in real time with this technology.
“Companies across all industries are looking for technologies to help them manage their processes with more flexibility so they can keep up with changing business conditions,” Tom Rosamilia, IBM WebSphere general manager, said in a statement. “ILOG’s software allows businesses to more effectively manage and automate the decision making process.”
SAP had 5 percent stake in ILOG during 1990’s. Now IBM has found a vendor. With its ILOG acquisition, IBM is reaching for a vendor that its competitor SAP uses.
