Lattice Technology Inc., provider of digital manufacturing solutions using the XVL format today launched the upgrade of 3D CAD conversion tools. XVL format allows an user to use 3D CAD data without 3D CAD platform. The XVL converters can convert 3D CAD data from every major 3D CAD format, including 64 bit CAD platform. The converter can be used as plug-ins into CAD, or as Servers that work within a manufacturing IT system or enterprise workflow.
The converter supports CATIA®, Pro/ENGINEER, I-DEAS, CoCreate®, Autodesk Mechanical Desktop®, SolidWorks, NX, Solid Edge® and many neutral 3D CAD file formats. The new upgrade adds on the following support:
- Pro/ENGINEER WildFire 4
- Autodesk Inventor 2009, in both Plug-in and Server versions
- 64-bit versions of NX
- 64-bit versions of SolidWorks.
The Converter from Lattice Technology can be used at any time during manufacturing process, ie. Design Review, Digital Assembly, Manufacturing Process Instructions and Simulation, Technical Illustration, Customer Service, Marketing, Sales, Quality Control, Product Development and Supply Chain. The XVL format achieves high compression rates that make it possible to publish CAD data to the Web and include in Microsoft Office documents.
“Our converters use the industry’s best translation technologies and allow massive 3D data to be compressed, very accurately, into files that are 1% or less of the original size. This makes even the biggest assemblies easily manageable and usable,” said Bill Barnes, GM, Lattice Technology Inc.
