ManageSoft Announced Oracle License Compliance for its Enterprise Compliance Manager
Managesoft, the leading provider of Asset Management solution for Datacenter, offered today an Oracle compliance package option with its new Enterprise Compliance Manager (ECM) version 8.0 software. ECM is due to be shipped on Nov 1.
With ECM Datacenter, enterprises are able to automatically discover Oracle database instances throughout their environment. The product supports Oracle’s main licensing models, including Processor-based and Named User Plus (NUP). ECM Datacenter enables enterprises to maintain Oracle license compliance, maximize license purchases, and avoid unnecessary costs.
Oracle also has strict licensing rules in terms of number of server processors running their database instances. Enterprises can unintentionally disregard license compliance as a result of a hardware change or an increase in the number of end users. ManageSoft handles this complicated situation by helping its customers monitor and optimize their license position.
“Oracle is widespread and critical for business applications among theFortune 1000. Staying compliant with publisher usage rights is challengingin today’s IT environments where software can be downloaded, installed, andused with little attention to the associated license rights,” noted AlanSwahn, ManageSoft’s vice president of marketing and business development.”ManageSoft is enabling its customers to understand how software purchasesrelate to what is installed, what is actually used, and what use ispermitted. This visibility allows under-licensed and over-licensedsituations to be corrected early, before a publisher review or audit.”
