Microsoft BizSpark Announced Free Software, Service for Start-Ups

Microsoft will launch BizSpark, a free software that provides software, support, service for start-ups. The offer is free for the first three years. The company targets those companies who have revenues less than $1 million. This is an alternative to open source software that helps small businesses build web services with all the essential tools they need.

The startups need to be referred in via a network of venture capitalists, consultants and other professionals in order to prove that they are promising. The companies can get in touch with the network partners for BizSpark enrollment code.

The main business benefits are:

  • Software. Receive fast and easy access to current full-featured Microsoft development tools, platform technologies, and production licenses of server products for immediate use for development
  • Support: Network partners like incubators, investors, advisors, government agencies and Hosts are going to offer wide range of  support.

The enrollment is free, just pay a USD $100  program offering fee at program exit. These businesses will either be able to switch to other software, or sign up to a Microsoft licensing program at the end of three years.
