Nokia, the world’s top cell phone maker, has unveiled three new phone models, targeting the highly competitive market for mid-priced phones. The shipments of the new phones — Nokia 6600 Fold, Nokia 6600 Slide and Nokia 3600 Slide — would start during the third quarter. The selling prices are going to be in the range of 175 to 275 EUR.
Nokia 3600 slide features a blend of attractive colors, materials and tactile finishes, and includes an entire range of the latest features. The salient feature of the Nokia 3600 is background noise cancellation. Besides, the phone also has a music player and supports memory of up to 4GB. A 3.2 megapixel camera with autofocus and 2 LED flash and Nokia Bluetooth GPS Module LD-4W are some of the other features of the Nokia 3600.
In the Nokia 6600 fold, just one touch of a button unfolds the device easily. A 2.13-inch OLED screen displaying up to 16 million colors, 3G technology and 2 megapixel camera with double LED flash are the key features of the 6600 fold. The Nokia 6600 incorporates high-gloss surface which turns into “wake up” when tapped twice and reveals time, incoming messages, missed calls and more. Double tap on the Nokia 6600 fold also gives out alerts and silences or rejects incoming phone calls. The new 6600 fold is expected to be available at 275 EUR excluding taxes and subsidies.
The new Nokia 6600 slide (see specifications), one of Nokia’s smallest sliders to date, comes with steel covers and an aluminum center key. Tapping the Nokia 6600 slide twice indicates time, snooze alerts and silences or rejects incoming phone calls. Equipped with a 2.2-inch QVGA display with 16 million colors, the 6600 slide offers Nokia Maps which can be enhanced by a GPS module (optional accessory). A 3.2-megapixel camera is also incorporated, while a microSD slot (4GB) and an included 512MB card offers roomy storage capacity for images and videos (recorded in VGA and QVGA like the 6600 fold).
