SAP launched Business suite 7 on Wednesday. AS per SAP, this is very cost effective software package during the economic recession. The new suite addresses 150 functional areas through enhancement that spans from SCM, CRM to more industry specific applications.
Enhancement packages allow customers to select and deploy only the functionality they need without upgrading their solution. SAP designed it as modules so that company can buy one module at a time and add new one when the budget permits. All of the programs have the same interface so that it is easier for IT people for deployment.
This will also encourage enterprise to switch from old R/3 system to NetWeaver platform which is a requirement for Business Suite 7. The new SAP Business Suite incorporates some analytical capabilities of the SAP Business Objects portfolio that allows customers to monitor execution and make perfect decision.

“Big projects that only promise a foundation for future value delivery are too risky, too costly, and the benefits are difficult to justify to business leaders. Enterprises want integrated IT solutions that require only investment that is tied to immediate business value — but without losing the cost, information integrity and process integrity benefits that a strategic suite provides.” said Jeff Woods, managing vice president, ERP and SCM, Gartner.
