Zmanda, the global provider of open source back up and recovery solution like Amanda Enterprise, Zmanda Recovery Manager (ZRM) for MySQL, and Zmanda Internet Backup solution, announced today Zmanda Recovery Manager (ZRM) Enterprise version 3.0 for MySQL. ZRM 3.0 also provides linux support with the addition of Ubuntu and Debian Linux. The price for Windows editions starts at $300 per server.
ZRM 3.o offers back up of mySql Database by providing advanced file systems and storage snapshot technologies. The technology includes Linux LVM, Solaris ZFS, Microsoft VSS, Symantec VxFS and NetApp SnapManager. It enables MySQL database administrators to create copies of file systems to protect mission-critical data.
With the help of ZRM, the DBAs can prevent damage that is done due to data loss by human error or system failure. ZRM includes unique, enterprise-grade features such as MySQL storage engine and snapshot intelligence, replication support, and integration of backup operations with MySQL binary logs. It also comes with web based GUI interface, Zamanda Management Console so that DBAs can monitor the back up from the browser.
