Sun Launches OGSI based Lightweight Web Application Server

Sun recently announced the availability of subscription and support of   Sun GlassFish Enterprise Server version 3 Prelude Application Server based on OGSI architecture and upcoming Java EE 6. Sun is targeting Apache Tomcat servlet container as potential users of Glassfish v3 Prelude because it is lightweight, easy to use, open source, and has easy administration.

IBM’s Websphere Ranked Top in the latest Survey

AS per the recent survey conducted by Evans Data survey, IBM’s Websphere replaced BEA Weblogic as the top ranking Application Server. Oracle acquired Weblogic in April this year. The respondents favored Websphere highly because of its support for J2EE and Enterprise Java Bean.

Sun Made a Deal with a Reputed ERP Software Company to Deploy GlassFish and MySql Solution

Sun Microsystems has added one more leading ERP company, Stésud as a growing list of customers. The company deployed Sun’s mySql Database and GlassFish Application Server for further development of software solution.

BEA Moves Forward with Java App Servers

BEA has partnered with Veritas Corp to offer utility computing to the customers with their application Server. The utilility computing signifies that customer runs their application on a group of low-cost servers and automatically move the load as per the requirement.
