IBM Rolled Out Update for Web Security Test Tool, Rational AppScan

IBM Rational AppScan is a leading provider of automated Web application security test tools that scan for common security violation, generate  reports, and help manage regulatory and standards in online environments. Rational AppScan Developer Edition (DE) and Rational AppScan Build Edition are the two new editions that were released yesterday. They have a capability to integrate with Rational Application Developer and Eclipse.

IBM Rolled Out Next Generation Smart Tool for Data Center Management

IBM recently announced new smart dashboard solution IBM Systems Director 6.1 for Data Center Management. This is also part of IBM’s New Enterprise Data Center strategy to streamline Data Center operation. The software will help clients to view, maintain and adjust the energy consumption, performance, and hardware utilization of their multi-system, virtualized environment from a single window.

Oracle Tied Up with HP to Launch Hardware Business

Oracle initiated hardware business in partnersip with HP for the first time in 31 years history. Oracle introduces HP Oracle Database Machine which is 10 times faster than current Data Warehouses. Chief Executive Larry Ellison launched the product at Oracle customer conference in front of 43,000 people. It took three years to develop the product. The database machine will sell for $650,000 and store up to 168 terabytes.

Microsoft Launched HPC Server at Wall Street Event

Microsoft released high performance computing HPC Server 2008 Beta 2 for rapid development of financial services applications that can be deployed quickly, managed centrally and scale  from workstation to cluster. The Windows HPC server is second in sequence after Microsoft Compute Cluster Server 2003 in terms of High Computing.

Oracle Profit Jumps by 28% as per First Quarter Report

Oracle Corp (ORCL.O) posted 28% boost of first quarter profit in this current financial year. The news makes the share up by 6% at Electronics Trading. The company also reported 14% rise of sales of new software licenses in the first quarter. The net income of Oracle rose to $1.1 billion, or 21 cents per share, in its fiscal first quarter ended Aug. 31, from $840 million, or 16 cents, a year earlier. The profit per share stands at 29 cent.

CISCO to Acquire Jabber to Enhance Enterprise Communication

Cisco announced its desire to acquire Jabber, provider of Messaging solution. The acquisition will help Cisco compete with Microsoft in communication market.  Jabber’s open source messaging solution enables enterprise communication system across different communication servers like  Microsoft Office and IBM Lotus Sametime. Jabber also integrates with online mail and IM services from AOL, Google, and Yahoo.
