Intel Goes Ahead with Remote Access Technology to PCs

Intel developed new technology that will let the users access to a PC remotely and also retrieve the files over the internet. They are going to incorporate Remote Awake technology to the motherboard which is an improved version of Wake-on-LAN or Wake-on-WAN technology.

Intel’s Upcoming Larrabee Project

Intel announced on Monday about their forthcoming Larrabee architecture which is going to be the foundation for their future Intel “many-core” graphics processors. This will be a major shift from their Pentium Pro based architecture model. They will present the model at the upcomg SIGGRAPH 2008 conference.

AMD Launches Quad Core Opterons for Two-, Four- and Eight-socket Systems

Advanced Micro Devices releases four more versions of its quad-core Opterons server chip, adding more performance to the company’s product line. The four quad-core processors now available are the 2.5GHz Opteron 2360 SE, 2.4GHz 2358 SE, 2.5GHz 8360 SE, and 2.4GHz 8358 SE. AMD also released three new Barcelona processors for single-socket servers earlier in June.

FTC Opens Antitrust Enquiry Against Intel
