Google’s Strategy for Web Development in the Next Three years

Verizon Prefers Linux to Android for Mobile Platform

Verizon Wireless confirmed its support for mobile Linux. It becomes the first U.S. operator to join the LiMo Foundation, a group developing mobile Linux technology. Key members include Motorola, NEC, NTT DoCoMo, Panasonic, Samsung, and LG.

Google Announces Android, an Open Source Mobile OS

Google just officially announced the Open Handset Alliance to create an open platform (to be called Android) for a Linux phone that can run mobile Google apps and others. At LugRadio Live yesterday in San Francisco, Google developer and Linux kernel contributor Robert Love gave a presentation about the open source Android mobile phone operating system and software development kit.
