Nvidia Launched Tegra Chips for Mobile Computing
Monday, June 2nd, 2008Nvidia formally rolled out its Tegra chip, Tegra 600 and Tegra 650 processors on Monday that the company is targeting for the Mobile Internet Device (MID) space. It is an integrated CPU, powering the devices with a long battery life which will facilitate full Internet surfing, game-playing and also high-definition video displays. The price is going to range between $200 and $250.
Chipmaker VIA Launched Latest Isaiah Processor
Saturday, May 31st, 2008The new Nano Processor family from Via, based on Isaiah CPU architecture is going to hit the market very shortly. The Nano processors offer a significant performance boost over Via’s existing C7 line of processors and will compete against Intel’s Atom processors. Via Nano is also pin compatible with C7 processors allowing them to be used in existing motherboards and integrated systems
Intel Introduces Atom Processor for Mobile Internet Device
Saturday, March 29th, 2008Intel has officially announced their Atom line of ultra-mobile processors, previously code named Silverthorne and Diamondville. This new family of chips is based on an entirely new CPU architecture that was designed from the ground up, specifically to address the computing and power consumption requirements of Mobile Internet Devices (MIDs) and Ultra-Mobile PCs (UMPCs). Rumors on the Internet currently put the cheapest Atom CPU in a price range between $29 and $49.
