The Big Blue unveiled IBM Center for Social Software. The center provides the facility for the experts of IBM to work with clients, partners, university students and faculty. In other word, it will cater as an incubator for the research, development and testing of social software. IBM made some progress in the last few years in the area of  Web 2.0 technologies such as blogs, wikis and social networks.

IgniteNYC is one of those social networking groups, for technology and new media people. The first IgniteNYC celebrated last week, 7/29 at M1-5. The event mainly featured 16 speakers. Each speaker  got 20 slides for their presentation.

Time.com released its first annual Blog index, featuring the top 25 blogs of 2008. Many of them are predictable selections - well-known blogs like BoingBoing, Andrew Sullivan, Daily Kos. It’s a great indication that traditional media is leveraging new media to engage bloggers by talking about blogs.
