Yahoo Launches New Geo Location Software, Fire Eagle

Yahoo just released Beta version of  Fire Eagle API. This tool gives user the ability to transmit their physical location to participating sites over the web. It can automatically feed the data to Web, Mobile and desktop applications.

Review of Mologogo: A Free Service for GPS Mobile Phone

Want to track someone and their mobile phone for free? Here’s a service that will allow you to track the location of the mobile phone in question privately via a sign in account or very publicly. Just download Mologogo, a free Java app that works with any Sprint Nextel GPS phone. Once the software is installed on the phone, you can log in to Mologogo’s site and track it using Google Maps. And unlike other web-based GPS tracking services, not only is the software free, but accessing the tracking data is as well. Here is a list of tested phones.

SAP to Run Native Apps on Blackberry

Research In Motion and German-based SAP announced on Friday that a new, mobile version of SAP business software will be available on BlackBerry smartphones in the coming months. SAP’s business management software is called SAP Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and is already used on other mobile devices, including the BlackBerry, through a browser. But this new software allows business employees to be even more mobile with information directly on the device.

TomTom Rolled Out Hanheld GPS

TomTom officially debuted its new GPS handheld, the TomTom One XL this morning. TomTom XL 330/XL 330S boast a slimmer frame and come packaged with the new EasyPort mount, which apparently, you can keep attached to the GPS, fold it down, and still manage to fit into a pants pocket. The unit will be out in June for $399.

Nokia Launches New Phones

Nokia, the world’s top cell phone maker, has unveiled three new phone models, targeting the highly competitive market for mid-priced phones. The shipments of the new phones — Nokia 6600 Fold, Nokia 6600 Slide and Nokia 3600 Slide — would start during the third quarter. The selling prices are going to be in the range of 175 to 275 EUR.
