JTrac 2.1.0 is an open source issue tracking web application software, written in Java and it is bundled with Jetty Web Application Server. JTrac is distributed as a WAR file. The JTrac web-application checks the environment on startup and if a configured database is not detected, HSQLDB is used by default. SAP made a deal with SUN Microsystem that SAP customers will be able to use Java Standard Edition For Business by using SAP NetWeaver technology platform. SpringSource, maker of the popular open-source Spring Framework for Java, announced new open source Web Application Server for Enterprises based on Apache Tomcat server. The new server preserves all of the features of Tomcat but adds some capabilities like enterprise management and diagnostic features. The tc server costs $500 per CPU per year for an enterprise-level subscription. Version 6.0.18 of Tomcat is featured with tc Server. The enterprise server is due in January.
Microsoft is currently working with Mobile Ajax technology called Kojax that allows Microsoft- and third-party-developed applets to run in an AJAX like, using a combination of Visual Studio tools and JavaScript, on Java-based mobile phones. ZDNet’s Mary-Zo-Foley says that the mobile application provides virtual wallet for online payments, a group messaging service and photo-sharing app. The application can be built on top of Windows Live for Mobile services.
