Lattice Technology Unveiled 64 bit CAD Converter

Lattice Technology Inc., provider of digital manufacturing solutions using the XVL format today launched the upgrade of 3D CAD conversion tools. XVL format allows an user to use 3D CAD data without 3D CAD platform. The XVL converters can convert 3D CAD data from every major 3D CAD format, including 64 bit CAD platform. The converter can be used as plug-ins into CAD, or as Servers that work within a manufacturing IT system or enterprise workflow.

Microsoft Warns Active X Control Attacks in Access

Microsoft issued a security advisory specific to its database program in Microsoft Office. The exploit permits “limited targeted attacks leveraging a potential vulnerability in the ActiveX control” for certain components of Microsoft Access.

Microsoft Tests SaaS with Office Subscription

Microsoft (NSDQ:MSFT) on Wednesday unveiled Equipt, formerly named Albany,  a subscription-based service that bundles together Office applications, Windows Live OneCare security software, and Office Live Workspace, the Web-based extension of Office for sharing and storing documents. Subscription pricing for software has become commonplace in businesses but is a relatively new concept for consumers.
