Ceedo Unveiled Enterprise Virtualization Solution for Citrix XenApp Clients

Ceedo announced Ceedo Enterprise, an enterprise virtualization technology for Citrix XenApp. It provides the solution to the user to access Xenapp server in a secured way without installing the client and without administrative right. Ceedo workspaces can be placed and run from a webpage, a folder on a PC, a network drive or a portable storage device. The workspace can also be managed by remote management system.

Foxconn New BIOS Fixes Linux Crashes

A recent press briefing explains different Linux related bugs in the Motherboards that are manufactured by Foxconn. The trouble prone area is AMI BIOS that several board makers use. Foxconn is the first vendor out with a publicly released test patch that fixes the bulk of the problems. The patch allows kernel 2.6.26 to run well on the G33M series.

Google Launched Media Server

Google just announced its odd Google Media Server, a Windows app that finds photos, music, and video and makes it available to DLNA devices like the PlayStation 3, XBox 360, and most Media Center PCs. The Google Media Server can connect a PC to any device that supports Universal Plug and Play, or UPnP, a set of computer network protocols that enable devices to share data across a home network.

PC Population Surpassed One Billion Mark

The total number of PCs in use today has broken the one billion mark says Gartner and is going to double in 2014. It is now growing at a rate of just under 12% a year. The firm is not counting the number of PCs shipped every year, but the number of machines it believes to actually be in use.
