Intel’s Upcoming Larrabee Project

Intel announced on Monday about their forthcoming Larrabee architecture which is going to be the foundation for their future Intel “many-core” graphics processors. This will be a major shift from their Pentium Pro based architecture model. They will present the model at the upcomg SIGGRAPH 2008 conference.

Intel Introduces Atom Processor for Mobile Internet Device

Intel has officially announced their Atom line of ultra-mobile processors, previously code named Silverthorne and Diamondville. This new family of chips is based on an entirely new CPU architecture that was designed from the ground up, specifically to address the computing and power consumption requirements of Mobile Internet Devices (MIDs) and Ultra-Mobile PCs (UMPCs). Rumors on the Internet currently put the cheapest Atom CPU in a price range between $29 and $49.
