Sun Launches OGSI based Lightweight Web Application Server

Sun recently announced the availability of subscription and support of   Sun GlassFish Enterprise Server version 3 Prelude Application Server based on OGSI architecture and upcoming Java EE 6. Sun is targeting Apache Tomcat servlet container as potential users of Glassfish v3 Prelude because it is lightweight, easy to use, open source, and has easy administration.

Azure, Microsoft Windows Version to Offer Cloud Computing for Developers

Microsoft recently announced the availability of new OS platform Windows Azure at the start of Microsoft’s Professional Developer Conference. Windows Azure will to provide service hosting and management, low-level scalable storage, computation and networking. Users will be able to develop and run the application over the internet by using Azure that resides remotely at Microsoft Data Center. The software is available for preview only for developers

Microsoft Unveiled Silverlight 2

Microsoft recently released Silverlight 2 beta 2, a cross-browser, cross-platform Flash like plugin for the next generation of media experience. Microsoft Silverlight enables designers and developers to use existing skills to deliver better interactive applications for the Web with tools: for designers, Microsoft Expression Studio, and for developers, Microsoft Visual Studio.

Microsoft Advances SOA Plan With .NET Framework

Microsoft recently announced the new server technology, Dublin to the .Net Framework that will give new exposure to the Service Oriented architecture for the web Developers. Microsoft Live Mesh is Available to More Users in US
