Robotic Buoy to Monitor Maritime Pollution
Sunday, August 3rd, 2008An engineering professor, Mr. Kato, at Osaka University has developed a prototype of a robotic buoy at his lab, designed to facilitate the quick cleanup of heavy oil from the sea in the event of a maritime accident. Ultimately, the procedure is going to reduce damage to the environment. The lead researcher hopes to see the robot becomes commercially available in 2 to 3 years.
