Microsoft is currently working with Mobile Ajax technology called Kojax that allows Microsoft- and third-party-developed applets to run in an AJAX like, using a combination of Visual Studio tools and JavaScript, on Java-based mobile phones. ZDNet’s Mary-Zo-Foley says that the mobile application provides virtual wallet for online payments, a group messaging service and photo-sharing app. The application can be built on top of Windows Live for Mobile services.

SUN Microsystem unveiled new Data protection service, Erasure that enhances data security measures with on-site, software enabled data. Erasure complies with up to 14 international standards and provides an audit-ready report for proof of compliance. The new service provides global solution for eradicating non-critical data from customers’ hard disks. It also complies with security policies by standardizing on the stringent DOD 5220-22M policy for data erasure.

Flint Telecom Group Inc., a provider of ”turnkey” IP telecom services to Global Telecom and Enterprise Markets, announced the enhancement of SaaS based enterprise product HipLink software. The new product is a hybrid version for existing customers so that they can send voice calls directly through the Flint switching network. It will also enable customers’ access to turnkey end-to-end voice solutions for emergency and standard broadcasts for any size.

The latest version of web application framework, Ruby On Rails 2.2 was just released. The software provides internationalization framework and stronger support for HTTP validators. Internationalization is the default feature and HTTP validators is provided by in the form of eTag. Thread safety and a connection pool for the Active Record capability are the other interesting features.

IBM and Nokia announced today that Nokia Smart Phone users will be able to access Corporate IBM Lotus Notes from next month. Nokia made this announcement with the backdrop of falling demand of mobile phones due to global financial crisis. Some analysts predict that there is a bright future of Smartphone in the coming year. Nokia sold 1.1 million of its new sleek E71 phones in the third quarter that outsell RIM’s business Blackberry Bold by five-to-one, according to Nokia.

The solution is built on open source, SOA architecture and can be plugged into existing financial, administrative modules of the banks. The solution will be launched mid December worldwide.
