DNS Bug is Fixed to Patch the Internet

Makers of the software used to connect computers on the Internet collectively released software updates Tuesday to patch a serious bug in one of the Internet’s underlying protocols, the Domain Name System (DNS). The bug was discovered “by complete accident,” by Dan Kaminsky, a researcher with security vendor IOActive. Kaminsky, a former employee of Cisco Systems.

Sun and Microsoft Rolled Out Infrastructure Solution For Exchange Server

Sun Microsystems and Microsoft set new milestone recently when the Sun Infrastructure Solution for Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 was announced for enterprise customers and also expanded their three-year partnership by unveiling the Sun/Microsoft Interoperability Center on the Microsoft campus. Sun to Acquire MySQL

Sun will pay $1 billion for Swedish software company MySQL, whose open-source database is used for some of the most widely visited Web sites in the world. The deal is expected to close by the end of Sun’s 2008 fiscal year.
