Microsoft will launch BizSpark, a free software that provides software, support, service for start-ups. The offer is free for the first three years. The company targets those companies who have revenues less than $1 million. This is an alternative to open source software that helps small businesses build web services with all the essential tools they need.

Private Equities and Venture Capitalists to Invest More Than $8.5 Billion in India

According to a report released in New Delhi, VCs and private equities are expected to invest more than $8.5 billion (Rs. 358 Billion) in the next 5 years. The report was released by consulting giant Deloitte and industry lobby Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (Assocham). The major thrust areas are going to be Biotechnology and life sciences, logistics, clean technology, film production and education. Until now, the investors invested mostly in the area of Information Technology. Now they are seeing the opportunities in the above areas.

IgniteNYC, a Network Site for Techies

IgniteNYC is one of those social networking groups, for technology and new media people. The first IgniteNYC celebrated last week, 7/29 at M1-5. The event mainly featured 16 speakers. Each speaker  got 20 slides for their presentation.

Ex Googler Created New Search Engine Cuil

A former Google employee and her husband launched a new search engine Monday called Cuil (pronounced “cool”), targeting to contest with Google by indexing more Web pages than the search giant. The company claims that it has indexed 120 billion Web pages and can provide results organized by ideas with complete privacy for users.

ArcelorMittal Unveiled New Clean Technology Venture Fund and New Carbon Fund

Trackvia Raises Series A for Point and click Database

Speculation For Potential Facebook IPO

There is a Web of projection that recently built up around the public debut of Facebook, Silicon Valley’s hottest Internet company. Although, Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook’s founder denied this in an interview with CBS’s 60 minutes, but,that hasn’t stopped bloggers and investors from interpreting Facebook’s every move as preparation for an eventual public offering.
