Bob Sutor, IBM’s VP of open source and standards said at the Black Hat conference at Las Vegas that user should pay attention to design Linux interface less like windows. The UI design should comprise some unique and cool features. IBM joined hands with Linux distributors Red Hat, Novell, and Canonical at Linuxworld the day before to build “Microsoft-free PCs for business.”

Kevin Johnson, the executive in charge of Microsoft’s struggling online business, is leaving the company. Microsoft announced Wednesday evening that Mr. Johnson was departing to become chief executive of Juniper Networks.

With each iteration of windows OS Microsoft has made it less friendlier for linux to be installed along with windows. Linux is all about choices, and I believe the users should have the choice to switch back and forth into whatever OS they want to. The following three are the most convenient way that they can switch back and forth between OSes.

Today, as Gates prepares to step down from day-to-day management of the company, another fact is clear: The modern Microsoft remains a company in search of a second act. True, it remains one of the world’s most profitable enterprises, making more profit in its 2007 fiscal year than Apple, Google, Yahoo, Oracle, and Adobe combined. But the cracks in the Microsoft hegemony aren’t just showing, they’re growing.
